Paving and Driveways

It may be that true that a home’s paving and driveway is not one of the first things noticed by visitors but when the paving is crumbling or the driveway is looking shabby and unkempt – the paving and the driveway will become an eyesore.  A home is a costly investment and for the value of the property to grow, the owner needs to invest money to keep the home looking great and to ensure that seemingly unnoticed aspects of the home, such paving on a pathway or a driveway is in good shape.

When paving is required, many paving companies can be sourced and all are reliable and experienced enough to get the job done. It must be remembered that paving and the cost of doing a driveway (from scratch) can end up costing a fortune and it may be wise to explore the alternatives to paving or finding out if existing paving can be repaired or restored. Often, the materials which remain from the crumbling paving, such as the bricks can be reused by the paving company to either redo or repair the existing walkway paving or used to pave driveways.

Apart from the traditional brick and concrete paving, there are other alternatives to consider, which may prove to be slightly less costly. Pebble paving looks great and it also gives the property a certain rustic charm. Depending on the size of the pathway and the length of the driveway – the pebble pave option is best suited to short walkways or driveways that are not particularly long.  Other than paving, the option of tarring the surface is also available. This may seem to work out more expensive than brick paving but for entranceways which are used excessively; a tarred surface will last far longer.

With most homeowners dictated to by their budgets, it is important to find a paving solution that is durable and will not be washed away with the first heavy rains.
