Garden Maintenance

A home with a garden is an added bonus for those who love outdoor entertaining or those who enjoy having nature at their backdoor.  Even though a garden has its advantages, often continual and laborious upkeep of a garden can spoil the joy of a home with a garden. Garden maintenance need not be seen as backbreaking work if it is carried out regularly. If a day in the week is allocated to garden work it will restore the pleasure of outdoor entertaining and it will also keep the outdoor area looking great all year round.

Before coming up with tasks that will minimise gardening work, it is important to remove plants that add to the upkeep of a garden. For instance a large tree is a wonderful asset in any garden, but if the tree is covered in black berries which are always dropping and fouling up walkways – keeping a garden looking neat and tidy is made more difficult. Evergreen trees are easy to care for and there is no need to rake up and bag fallen dead leaves during the autumn months. Easy to care for plants is the best way to remove intense garden tidying and furthermore the evergreens will give the garden a pleasant look in any season.

Tending to the lawn and the flowerbeds are essential chores necessary to keep any garden looking great. By mowing the lawn once a week during the rainy season will avoid tackling an overgrown jungle on a monthly basis. Tossing beds weekly will go a long way when it comes to garden maintenance as the freshly tossed soil will instantly give the garden a cared for appearance. Removing dead plants and taking off dead leaves and branches regularly will prevent a pile up of decaying foliage that will be scattered around the yard by wind. Tending to a suburban garden on a weekly basis will reduce the workload and will give the plainest of gardens a charming look.
